It is the French attitude Match French Food?

My French mother-in-law is coming for lunch tomorrow. It is not often cook for them, and I'm racking my head and the mixing of the recipes to decide what to enjoy. Tricky, because it is convinced that the British can not cook. In fact, most of the French that I discussed this issue, everyone is defiantly on the cooking skills of immigrants from all over the channel. I am also very happy to remind us of our "mad cow .

However, our French cooking Christmas dinner"Ma-in-law was" not a patch on seasonal roast turkey and trimmings used to have to do at home in Britain. Our meal consisted of a hen party of old boiler, pressure canned chestnuts and what I term "traditional potato" (not further VEG) through a boring endive and a supermarket frozen desserts ... no crackers fun, flower, followed Decoration cooked a bit '.

It 'my opinion that the French are too complacent with their antique crown "of the best chefs in the world." Theto ensure the majority of the local restaurants here in Nice, southern France, especially for tourists year after year the same menu. If you dare to complain - that is - are the number one enemy. Only once again we have a steak cooked warm. We could not even decide whether it was lamb or pork, and 22 € ... The waiter threw a strike, then again the steak itself - which had just re-heated in the microwave!

I understand that there are some amazing restaurants around particular furtherout, but we drive and what happens if the food is not worth the talk of a trip? For us, we avoid today, the local French restaurants, as we have exhausted the few varieties of dishes. There are only so many chocolate mousse cake you could want.

Now the restaurant is a delight in the week to go to expat Posted on Sunday afternoon. Do not have a microwave, all is bright with an exciting variety of fresh vegetables and desserts are always a source of inspiration.trifle mulled wine to try Bailey's crème brûlée and chocolate mousse made with Guinness and served them in a glass as half a pint of fun. Of course, my ma-in-law firmly refused our invitation to meet us there!

I admit that could generalize about cooking techniques of the two nations, but in my opinion, the French, a bit 'more adventurous with their proven, traditional recipes are regurgitated.
